Contribution to the project
Although JU is involved in other work packages, its primary focus is on WP1 and WP6. In WP1, JU collaborates with partners (Lead: W4E, Partners: EP, CEA, DAFNI, Rhoe, VITO, FM, SINTEF, GS) to define high-level HESS requirements, oversee building block development, and ensure safety requirements. JU also helps define general KPIs, such as energy density, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and safety, through stakeholder consultations, workshops, and questionnaires, supporting the modular architecture of HESS solutions across four use cases.
In WP6 (LCA, impact analysis, business cases, replication studies, and exploitation), JU’s primary role is to assist in a replication study for Ethiopia by providing local data. It also supports market impact analysis and the roadmap to TRL 9. JU benefits from expert advice and replication study results, which provide insights for local implementation and exploitation of project outcomes in Ethiopia.
